Privacy Policy
Last updated: 30 October 2026
TapInRoom (“we”, “us”) lets presenters run live polls, word clouds and quizzes. This policy explains what we collect and why. We keep it short because we collect very little.
Presenters (account holders)
We store your name, email address and a securely hashed password, plus the presentations, questions and results you create. We use this only to run the service, keep your account secure and send essential emails such as password resets.
Audience members
You don’t need an account to take part. We store your answers, an optional nickname for quizzes, and a random identifier kept in your browser so you can’t vote twice. We don’t ask for your name or email. Your answers are visible to the presenter and may be shown on screen.
Cookies
We use a single essential cookie to keep presenters logged in, and your browser’s local storage to remember your audience identifier. We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies.
Sharing and storage
We don’t sell your data. It is stored with our hosting provider and only shared when required by law. Presenters can delete presentations and responses at any time, and can delete their account from the Account page, which removes all their data.
Security
Data travels over HTTPS, passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text, and access is limited to what is needed to run the service.
